Suzanne Turner Associates

About

Suzanne Turner Associates is a design, planning, and research firm whose portfolio includes landscapes of all types and scales in which the meaning of place matters.

Our interest is in the unlocking of each landscape’s unique potential by understanding it well, by “reading” the marks of human and natural interactions that are contained within the physical fabric of the site and within the stories of the place. It is the complexity and richness of each landscape’s layers that draws us to our work.  This investigation is the starting point for developing design and planning concepts.

STA’s studio office, including a large library of historic and contemporary volumes, provides a setting for the group creative problem solving process that is at the heart of our method.  We are committed to designing and planning places that reinforce continuity in community, and that communicate the times during which we live, using the best practices possible for sustaining places for the future.
